Welcome! I’m Dr. Marcella Gemelli, a sociologist and teaching professor, interested in how we make sense of our lives, exploring how we thrive through connection and empathy. I bridge research, lived experiences, and cultural insights to make complex ideas more accessible.
I approach questions in a process-oriented way, drawing connections across different sources, perspectives, and experiences to better understand what shapes our motivations, decisions, behaviors, relationships, and sense of self as members of our various communities.
Beyond teaching, writing, and mentoring, I’m interested in how these ideas apply in our everyday lives through empathy and relatability, and in organizational and collaborative settings, particularly in areas of learning and professional growth.
This site is a space to think through ideas, sometimes analytically, sometimes personally, and often somewhere in between.
